Ryan Gosling’s Space Escape Lands on Streaming

The critics loved it.

And rightly so. Aaron Pruner over at CNET called it stellar, but you probably knew that already. Now Project Hail Mary is actually heading home, at least if your home includes the MGM+ streaming app. It’s not just drifting in space anymore.

Ryan Gosling plays Ryland Grace.

He’s a teacher. Or was. Now he’s alone on a spaceship. Task: save humanity. Complication: he has an unexpected friend along the way. It’s based on Andy Weir’s 2021 book, same name. You know the one. The theaters got it in March.

It didn’t sit there long.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller directed. You remember them. The Lego Movie feels like a lifetime ago. Drew Goddard wrote the script. The Martian. Familiar territory, sure, but executed differently. Sandra Hüller is there too, looking great as usual since Anatomy of a Fall.

Why wait to stream a highly rated comedy about space survival?

The date is set.

When It Drops

June 18. Thursday.

That’s when Project Hail Mary launches on the MGM+ app. No ambiguity there. You mark your calendar.

Or maybe you just forget about it until it shows up. Algorithms work better that way, right?

The streaming window is open now, metaphorically. Literally? You have to wait until the middle of June. The app is ready. Your remote is probably within reach.

Just don’t spoil it for yourself.

“Project Hail Mary will launch on June 18.”

So easy. So fast. The universe is big but the waiting period isn’t.
