Samsung’s Monitor Drop Comes With Free Swag

You wanted premium screens? You got them. You didn’t think the world’s first 6K gaming display would be cheap, did you. Samsung just unveiled a slate of next-gen monitors. Half of them cost over a thousand dollars. The G8 alone? Close to $1,600.

But wait. There is a trick.

Buy direct. Or leave money on the table.

Samsung is offering credits. Up to $300 off future purchases. Or gadgets. Speakers worth $500. Earbuds that normally run $250. It is a limited-time thing. You have to buy straight from the Samsung website. Best Buy isn’t running this deal. Newegg is out. You want the free speaker? Go direct.

Hun Lee, the EVP for Visual Display Business, called this a move that pushes the “boundaries of performance.” Corporate speak? Probably. The hardware? Not so much.

Pure overkill – in the best way.

PCMag liked the new 32-inch 6K Odyssey G8. That makes sense. It’s a monster. A $1,599 monster. If you want slightly less resolution for a bit less money, there is a 27-inch 5K version for $949.

Then there is the OLED crowd.

The Odyssey OLED G7 and G8 are here. The G7 is just the 32-inch model for $1,100. The G8 gets more sizes. A glare-free finish. True Black 500 HDR on the big one. That $1,299 price tag hurts, but the blacks will be deep. Very deep.

For people who work. Yes. We remembered you.

The office setup refresh.

Two ViewFinity S8 monitors joined the fray. A 40-inch curved 1440P display sits at $1,400. A sharper 27-inch 5P model? It arrives in July. We will wait on the price.

If you are tired of standing desks or fixed arms, look at The Movingstyle Essential. A 43-inch 4Q screen. It rolls on wheels. Adjustable height. It is the cheapest option. Under $900. It feels more like furniture than a peripheral.

Where is the catch?

Usually there isn’t one with tech, but the credit applies to future purchases. So you pay now, spend later. The gadgets are real value. The Galaxy Buds4 Pro alone justify the math. The Music Studio speakers? Those are expensive standalone units.

You are getting hardware that costs $1,600 and then they throw in a $500 speaker.

Or they give you cash back for more Samsung gear. Either way the bill is high. The tech is impressive. The deal is real, for now.

Which one takes your desk?

Probably not your current one.
