Paramount Titles Coming to Netflix

Around 20 Paramount shows will be added to Netflix over the next year, including popular series like SEAL Team, Watson (based on Sherlock Holmes), and notably, Taylor Sheridan’s Mayor of Kingstown . This marks the first time Sheridan’s television work will be available on Netflix, a major win for fans of the prolific creator behind Yellowstone and other hit Westerns. While some titles, such as Matlock and King of Queens, will be exclusive to international audiences, the deal broadens Netflix’s catalog for global subscribers.

Universal Movies Hit Netflix First

Netflix will now be the primary streaming home for Universal Pictures’ live-action films, starting this month with titles like Jurassic World: Rebirth. This arrangement provides Netflix with exclusive early access to major movie releases, offering subscribers a compelling reason to remain subscribed. The trend of streaming services securing exclusive windows for theatrical films is growing, as studios seek new revenue streams and direct-to-consumer distribution.

Expanded Sony Partnership

Netflix has also expanded its deal with Sony, allowing it to stream feature films worldwide after their theatrical and home entertainment runs. This includes highly anticipated movies like The Legend of Zelda and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. The rollout will be phased, but the long-term impact is clear: Netflix is becoming a dominant hub for blockbuster entertainment.
