Epic Games Store: Daily Free PC Games Through New Year’s Day

Epic Games is offering a free PC game every day from December 18th to January 1st as part of its holiday sale. Unlike Steam’s seasonal discounts, this promotion provides a completely free title each day for 24 hours. No purchases are necessary, though an Epic Games Store account is required to claim these giveaways.

How the Promotion Works

Each free game is revealed on the Epic Games Store homepage at 11 AM ET (8 AM PT) daily. Once claimed, the game remains in your library permanently. These titles are generally well-regarded indie games, though past years have included bigger hits like Control and Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

As of December 22nd, the following games have been given away:

  • Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel (Dec. 18)
  • Eternights (Dec. 19)
  • Blood West (Dec. 20)
  • Sorry We’re Closed (Dec. 21)
  • Paradise Killer (Dec. 22)
  • Hogwarts Legacy (Dec. 11-17)

Account Setup and Game Access

Creating an Epic Games Store account is free. Visit the official Epic Games Store website, click “Sign In,” and then select “Create an account.” You will need to provide a valid email address and your date of birth.

To play the games, you must download the Epic Games Launcher for PC, Mac, Android (limited availability in the EU for iOS). Ensure your system meets the game’s minimum PC specifications, which are listed on each title’s store page. Once downloaded, launch the game directly from your library within the Epic Games Launcher.

This promotion is a straightforward way to expand your PC game library without spending a dime. However, the daily availability means you must check the Epic Games Store each day to avoid missing out.
